September 11th 2012: Pause

September 11, 2012

When the weather in early September turns crisp and cool, with sun and blue skies, our thoughts turn to that day 11 years ago when the world changed.

Today, we invite you to join us as we pause in our busyness—in our work days, in this fast-paced election season—to remember all those who lost their lives that day and the many families, friends and colleagues who still mourn their loss.

And, in pausing, let us re-commit ourselves to doing the work of building bridges across the many lines that continue to divide us as a nation and world until that day when “each shall sit under his vine and fig tree, and no one will make them afraid.” (Micah 4:4)
