Auburn Media Training for the Public Square and the Pulpit
By Kellie Anderson-Picallo January 11, 2012 Media is the pulpit of the twenty-first century; yet inspired and prophetic leaders representing a balance of perspectives are underheard and unseen in the news. There is a growing demand for faith leaders to use media as a tool to communicate their messages and mission work. Auburn is dedicated to educating seminarians to take their preaching, teaching, movement work and writing to meet the needs of TV, radio, print, social media and the Web. Auburn Media Training for the Public Square and the Pulpit is a 1-day workshop that equips graduating seminarians with the skills they need for effective ministry in the media landscape. This program is designed to give practical tools to translate a sermon into sound bites, take message strategies to enter the news cycle of the moment, build a long-term social media strategy, become fluent with engagement strategies and prepare for the inevitable crisis communications moment. For 10 years Auburn Media has been a resource to today’s religious leaders and experts on religion. Auburn Media has trained close to 2,000 religious leaders across religious traditions through our workshops and consulting. Auburn Media Training for the Public Square and the Pulpit brings the success of the Auburn Media Training Workshop into the seminary classroom to equip emerging voices to be a media-savvy leader. Register here for the Friday May 4th Media Training. Please contact the Rev. Kellie Anderson-Picallo for more information about Auburn media training.
