Sojourner Truth Leadership Circle
Black women of faith harnessing the power of self-care as a mandate for prophetic leadership
The Sojourner Truth Leadership Circle at Auburn Seminary aligns the creation of vibrant and sustainable models of activist leadership with an emphasis on self-care as a defining and galvanizing mandate for social justice in the 21st century.
Why we're here
Because Black women of faith have been strong leaders and justice makers on behalf of their communities and for American society at large throughout the centuries.
Because for just as long Black women of faith have been pain-bearers – their labor and capacity used in the service of others with scant attention given to their own needs.
The Sojourner Truth Leadership Circle exists to break a new path in this history.
