About My Faith/Your Faith

My Faith / Your Faith brings together teens from different faith communities for a year-long program of dialogue, education and service.

My Faith / Your Faith is open to high school age teens from different religious backgrounds in the New York City area. For approximately 11-12 sessions over the course of a year, participants will teach each other about their traditions, attend religious services at each other’s houses of worship, and engage in activities and projects that challenge perceptions and encourage understanding and cooperation.

Program Structure

A majority of the programs will be held at Auburn Seminary, although several programs will involve trips to local religious institutions and meetings at the homes participants’ families. Programs will take place on Sunday afternoons and will run two-three hours, although visits to institutions will be made in accordance to their worship schedules.

Eligibility

Participants in the program must be members, friends or affiliates of one of the participating religious communities; commit to attending approximately 11-12 sessions during the academic year; be willing to interact with people of different faith backgrounds; and be in 9th through 12th grade during the 2012-2013 school year.
