Dear friend,
In this election year, women’s freedoms we won generations ago are under attack.
As we witness our champions being cynically targeted for political gain, we must join with all women and men who are standing for justice, bridging divides, and building community to heal the world.
We – the neighbors with the covered dish for those in need; the mothers and fathers with fierce love for not only our own children, but those who are neglected; the champions of equality and dignity for all – must lift up our values rather than be defined and disenfranchised by values we do not share.
This spring, at Auburn’s annual Lives of Commitment Benefit Breakfast on May 2nd, the opportunity is upon us to celebrate five extraordinary women leaders whose work carries forward the efforts of generations of activists on the frontlines of the struggle for equality:

Cecile Richards, President, and Cecilia Guthrie Boone, Chair of the Board, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA)
Reproductive health care, sex education and family planning

Rabbi Sharon Brous, founder, IKAR, Los Angeles-based progressive Jewish community
Economic and immigration justice

Reverend Kanyere Eaton, Pastor, Fellowship Covenant Church, former Executive Director of The Sister Fund
Individual and community wellness
I hope you will join me for an inspiring morning on May 2, 2012, 7:00 to 9:00 am at Cipriani, 110 E. 42nd Street in NYC. Together we will connect with and honor these transformational change makers, creating and filling a space in which we celebrate women and their leadership.
Let's make 2012 a year we bring the full force of our values to bear on the continuing movement for women’s freedom and equality for all at Auburn’s Lives of Commitment Benefit Breakfast.

I look forward to living into a tradition of honoring bold leaders together.
With all confidence, love, and gratitude,
