The program begins and ends with a 2-day residential program, the first in late October/November and the second in late April/May. Each residential program includes plenary sessions and workshops on various topics related to leadership and self-care; it also includes multiple individual coaching sessions. In between the two residential programs, participants will meet by phone and/or face-to-face with a coach twice a month. Thus, participants not only benefit from the capacity-building, skill-development and supportive network of the residential programs, they are supported through an individualized relationship with a coach as they take new skills and insights home and begin to apply them in their daily work. This combination has a multiplying effect that results in a rapid, sustained, and substantive impact on the minister’s life and work.

The Auburn Coaching Institute (ACI) works with religious leaders and organizations to develop resilient leaders who create and enhance vision, and actualize mission and values. Auburn Theological Seminary was founded almost two hundred years ago for the formation of church leaders “hardy” enough for life on the frontier. Today we are responding to a new religious frontier and a host of challenges and opportunities for leaders and their ministries. With the support of Lilly Endowment Inc. and other foundation and individual supporters, Auburn has developed an array of programs and services to bring professional coaching and leadership skills to the work of religious leaders. |
