The Auburn Web site is rich with resources to help you teach and preach and stay current with all that is happening in religious news for the week of July 12th. This week the Jewish calendar turns to Tish’a B’Av which commemorates the destruction of the first and second Temples in ancient Israel. It is also a time of mourning around other tragedies to Jewish people. Here’s how Auburn’s resources can strengthen your message to trouble the waters and heal the world.

Documentary Resource We suggest using this powerful documentary, Hiding and Seeking, as a teaching moment during these weeks of mourning and mindfulness of Tish’a B’Av. Hiding and Seeking is one family’s journey to understand the horror of the Holocaust.

Auburn Religious Leader Each week Auburn tracks religious voices who are bridging religious divides, building community and pursuing justice. Meet Farah Harman, a young Muslim leader who is learning strategies to respond to today’s biggest challenges through her Face to Face training. Be inspired by her story by clicking here. Auburn is always tracking justice movements that are seeking the help and support of more voices to create effective change. Poverty, eco-justice, immigration – follow this link to learn more about the places your community of faith can help.
