Long-time Auburn board member, The Rev. Canon Carl Gerdau, received an honorary doctorate on May 16, 2012 from the General Theological Seminary in New York City.

Carl has served as canon to two Presiding Bishops in the Episcopal Church. He has a particular interest and expertise in seminary education and has been on the advisory board for Auburn’s Center for the Study of Theological Education. He has served as Chair of the Board of Bexley Hall Seminary and on numerous seminary and church-related committees during some of the most challenging times for the church.
